This picture started as a half screener but during the process i thought it might be good to add those, from whom the mask protects the woman. It is a concept piece of work around the motif of feeling not to be seen, not wanted to be seen and not caring to look behind the masks that are worn by so many of us in all kinds of situations and for all kinds of reasons. Its called “Protection” because that is a strong reason for wearing a mask. I think it is something that happens every day and no one can protect himself from always showing his/her reals self. Sometimes its just that you give the people what they want, a happy smilie-face so that they can feel better, too. Some of those people do ask for the real you, but they do so, because they think its appropriate to do so in certain situations, but in the end, they do not care and do not want the truth, because they do not want to get involved or be confrontated with a reality they don’t want to be reminded of. I guess there are far mor explanations for why people sometimes wear masks and i think everyone can make up his/her own reasons and tell from own experiences. I add myself to that. On the technical side, i know that there is some major angle issue with the watchers, but since i didn’t want to invest more time than necessary to transport my idea and i was already thinking about something else, i thought it would suffice as it is now.
